The recent performances of Manchester United have been criticized, notably following their 1-0 victory over Omonoia Nicosia in the Europa League at Old Trafford.
Jason Cundy, a Chelsea great, thinks that what Red Devils fans saw should cause them to be “concerned.”
The only goal scored by substitute Scott McTominay in stoppage time gave Erik ten Hag’s team a 1-0 victory over the underdogs despite dominating the Cypriot team for the whole game.
And while many experts and football enthusiasts would argue that only the outcome matters, Chelsea supporter Cundy believes the issue at Manchester United has not been resolved.
Every football fan, including United supporters, is always thinking about the future of their team. told talkSPORT, Cundy.
“I completed it. Look, Graham Potter has joined us [Chelsea], how are things going? Yeah. Are we in the proper place? We’re not, no.
“There are still players there who aren’t performing to the level that I want them to or that I expect them to at the moment, and if you’re an honest football fan about your club—and United supporters are typically very honest—they should be saying ‘we got out of jail [against Omonoia Nicosia]’,” said the manager.
“How can a team like United beat Omonoia Nicosia at home? They’re a team I’d never heard of before, to be honest.
“How is it possible that Scott McTominay sneaks a victory in stoppage time? If United supporters are being truthful, they should admit that they are worried about their team.
