Ifeanyi Adeleke, the son of Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, was found dead after an autopsy confirmed that he had drowned.
In a talk with PUNCH, Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos state police, confirmed the news and stated that the autopsy had been completed. It is proof that Ifeanyi, the boy, drowned.
It was said that the police might perform an autopsy to ascertain whether Ifeanyi genuinely drowned at his father’s home in the Banana Island neighborhood of Lagos State.
According to a source who confirmed the development, performing an autopsy in this situation is a routine procedure for the police. The source added that if the departed family members objected, the police would abstain from the action.
“Though the family members are not saying anything yet because they are still in shock but until anybody says stop, the standard procedure is to conduct an autopsy and we are going to follow that procedure just like in any case of death,” the source said.
The chef and nanny, whose responsibility it was to look after the wellbeing of the three-year-old boy, had been held, the source further explained, out of the eight domestic employees who had been questioned by the police in relation to Ifeanyi’s death.
The cook and nanny were reportedly still in detention as of the time this article was submitted.
